Planting trees is the first step in creating a new story of peace for the people of Gaza.
Long before bombs remade the landscape, Gaza was famous for it's olive and citrus trees. We envision a future where trees once again dot the landscape, lush rooftop gardens feed families, and Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Seiks - all the People of God and the Earth together - can share a new story of peace.Today, we're starting by planting trees in Palestine. These trees create opportunity for growth and healing in Gaza and the middle east. Trees are just the beginning, but they are an important first step.
How Can A Tree Bring Peace?
A Vital Focal Point
For the people of the Gaza strip, without adequate food, water and security it's difficult to think beyond daily survival. In the West Bank, despite settler expansion, Palestinian Farmers continue to plant, to cultivate, to love their land. A simple olive or citrus tree can help to:Provide Food & Opportunity

Founder & Executive Director, Jeannie Amash
Jeannie Amash is an American born daughter of a Palestinian refugee, Dr. Paul J. Amash. After his death in 2016, she went back to Palestine to understand the events that had shaped his life. She fell in love with Palestine and her people. Having led multiple lives as a stay at home mom, dancer, teacher, esthetician and product formulator, tree hugging organic gardener, and writer, she now is founder and executive director of The TreeWater Initative. She is dedicated to telling the true story of the beauty, tenacity,and intelligence of Palestinians using tree planting as one of the mediums. Please visit her blog at www.dancewildly.com
President, Thaer Fakhoury
Thaer Fakhoury, President of TreeWater Initiative, is our man on the ground in Palestine. He has personally overseen the planting of thousands of trees over the last 10 years. He has worked for NGO's in Palestine, designing and implementing hundreds of successful micro grants for women, farmers, the disabled, and even a recording studio. His skill and understanding are what make our organization able to continue forging ahead with our plan.
Vice President, Vera Alexander
Vera Alexander, Vice President of TreeWater Initiative, is our resident marketing, social media, and branding expert. She brings her experience as a Marketing Director and consultant in the for profit world to TreeWater, as well as her sincere passion for helping all peace-seeking people. She is honored to serve the people of Palestine, Gaza and the West Bank in our mission to create a new story of peace, with trees as the vital first step.How You Can Help
